UniCredit Bank Austria introduces banking via smartphone keyboard in cooperation with the FinTech PayKey

“Many people talk about digitisation, we make it happen”, says Robert Zadrazil, CEO of UniCredit Bank Austria. “It goes without saying that our customers communicate with us on an increasingly mobile basis: almost one in two customers already use mobile banking and the trend in this area continues to grow strongly, while at the same time personal advice in our branches remains indispensable. In cooperation with the innovative FinTech PayKey, the Bank Austria Keyboard offers modern banking via smartphone keyboard in direct connection to our mobile banking. Mobile banking thus becomes an integral part of daily smartphone use. “

UniCredit Bank Austria Mobile Banking was also redesigned as the basis for the cooperation with the Israeli FinTech PayKey. The new Bank Austria Keyboard offers a seamless link between banking services and smartphone communication.

Bank Austria Keyboard: Seamless integration of Mobile Banking into daily communication

The Bank Austria Keyboard is a smartphone keyboard that links UniCredit Bank Austria Mobile Banking with any written communication via smartphone, be it e-mail, SMS, social media, news or messenger services, platforms or chats. In Austria, for this innovation PayKey was awarded the “New Branch Experience” award at the RBI Elevator Lab, in addition to numerous renowned international awards.

“Social messaging apps have become an important communication channel for customers at all ages”, explains Guy Ziv, Chief Sales Officer of PayKey. “Our solution enables UniCredit Bank Austria to streamline its services into users’ digital lives, keeping these services always in front of customers – no matter what they’re doing on their phones. It is particularly important for us to have won Austria’s largest bank as a partner, UniCredit Bank Austria, which is also a member of UniCredit, one of the largest banking groups in Europe.”

The UniCredit Bank Austria Keyboard, developed jointly with PayKey, enables customers to check their account balance, make transfers or share their IBAN with their conversation partners directly in communication via messenger service, e-mail, SMS and chat.

Cooperation with worldwide awarded FinTechs

In order to drive digital transformation, UniCredit is investing EUR 900 million per year Group-wide in digitisation and IT by the end of 2023. Cooperations with the world’s best FinTechs provide fresh impetus. In recent years, UniCredit Bank Austria has already brought its customers exclusive innovations in this way, such as the “Photo Transfer” feature, with which it is possible to use a smartphone photo to make transfers from single- or multi-page paper bills without requiring a payment slip, or the “Homestory” app, which enables mortgage loans to be processed entirely via smartphone.
